This would seem a good place to explain about how to move/drag/zoom the area within the stage viewing area using a combination of keyboard/mouse command:
- The mouse wheel will allow you to "zoom in/out" on the model/area. (Of course this is dependent on you having a mouse with a scroll wheel).
- CTRL + Left Click will allow you to "drag" the area from left-to-right, as well as forward-and-backward.
- CTRL + Right Click will allow you to rotate the area. If you move the mouse from left-to-right, the floor will rotate along the z-axis in either clockwise or anticlockwise direction. If you move the mouse straight up and down, the floor will rotate along the x-axis and pitch forward and backward.
- ALT + Left Mouse Click will allow you to rase a placeable "vertically" (along the "z-axis") from the ground with "precision". This function is useful when you want to raise a picture to make a appeared "hanged" on a wall, or hang a candelabra to the ceiling.
Keyboard Shortcuts
- ESC can be used to "unstuck"/detach a placeable model from the mouse cursor.
- CTRL + Left/Right Arrow can be use to rotate a placed object in small increment (as opposed to the "Rotate Object by 45o Left/Right" option. You can view this as a "precision" keyboard shortcut.
- Page UP/DOWN is the keyboard shortcut for ALT+Left Mouse Click, which allows you to fine tune the height of a placeable with "precision". As stated above, this keyboard shortcut is good for "hanging a picture on the wall", or hanging a "candelabra from the ceiling".
- The S Key will allow you to stack one placeable onto of another. Say you are trying to place a "plate" (placeable 2) on a table (placeable 1). First you position the table (placeable 1), and then once you have selected a plate (placeable 2), hit the "S" key to turn Stackable to "ON", you will find that now you are able to stack (place) the plate nicely on top of the table. (Yay! No more "ALT+Left Mouse Button".)
